Hi!
I’m Lisa.
A memoir writer, survivor of intergenerational trauma, and mom of two, striving to give my kids a better childhood than I had.
Like so many other women, I have struggled with anger, insecurity, and difficulty with self-expression, handed down to me from my mother and mother’s mother, and so on. The cycle stops with me.
We all have our own traumas. But I believe that if I can heal from my parents’ mental illness, then you can heal your own traumas too.
This site is about challenges I’ve faced and insights I’ve gained through my healing process. Join my mailing list to receive updates about my forthcoming memoir and articles on my blog!
Memoir
It is the story of how I transformed from feeling like everything I did was “never enough” to believing that “I am enough.”
I’ve known since I was nine years old that my family’s story needed to be shared. It’s taken me thirty years to be ready to share my story with you, but it’s time!

Professional Credentials
While most of what I have learned has been through my personal experience of dealing with and healing from trauma, I do have degrees in English and Psychology to back up my experience.
I also have a Master’s degree in Education, and have taught college writing as well as women’s sexual health.
Interests
When I am not writing or spending time with my two kids and husband, I enjoy cooking, meditating, yoga, and reading. My reading tastes are fairly eclectic, including memoirs, psychological and spiritual self-help, and all sorts of fiction, including (but not limited to) time travel, fantasy, dystopian futures, and historical fiction. And if it has a romantic story line, then all the better.
